My strange fascination

With Graveyards, I have never understood it, but they have ALWAY "spoken" to me. The headstone of this little girl, Lula M Lavender.
The name Thompson, not part of our clan, but a Thompson. One day my name will be above that one.
And last but not least The Honey bucket, comeon its a shitter. Nothing sweet about a shitter, right??

Other than that I have been hanging out, enjoying the first 2days of summer with my rugrats. They were SO MAD this morning when I woke them up at 6AM to go to the dentist. Our first day of summer break? WTF mom? Just kidding they didnt say WTF, if they did well they would be sorry. And i probably would have laughed, cause the other day they did say MYOB to each other. GAWD thats SOOO 90s.

I have been watching MsDPs house while she has been away discovering america with her own family. I have to say,I love chicken poop. And the sounds goats make.
Anyway we will be heading to california soon and we are excited!!

Uncle Jake

The new song I have on my myspace page came out a LONNNNG time ago. Its called In the Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics, The first time I ever heard it was when my Uncle Jake died. It was playing when someone called to tell my Dad. Ever since then when I hear it I think of Uncle Jake, when he would come spend the night with us, his teenytiny apartment on McHenry with the super scary rickty stairs. His after shave and flannel shirts. And his deep belly laugh. I remember one Halloween him and dad thought they would scare the crap out of all the trick or treaters, so they were hiding. Well Uncle Jake hid between 2 of the cars. So that when Dad walked by he grabbed dads leg, Uncle Jake almost got his nose broke, cause Dad kicked him.

Or the time he took us to SanFran to take Katie home, in his burgandy car with power windows. To a kid power windows was like riding in a space ship.Anyway I just wanted to pay homage to Uncle Jake, he has been gone a very long time, but I still think of him from time to time. And I feel his presence when In the Living Years comes on.
I think I was 9 when he died, it was Chirstmas, and he went down the red hill to his tiny 8X8 cabin, lit a fire of BBQ charqiol in a coffee can, layed down to sleep and never woke up. Leaving his family heartbroken.

Papa
In light of songs taking me back to special memories, another one is Grandpa Tell me 'Bout the Good Old days, by the Judds. My Papa used to sing that to me ALL the time.Everytime I hear it , if I am outside I see 2 white butterflys. When my Granny died there was one white butterfly at her funeral, fluttering around. When Papa died there was 2 at his. I believe these butterflies symbolize them, yes thats kind of hippydippy but i dont care. They had a hard tough life, but I do believe they loved each other. I do believe they are together now being who they wanted to be here on earth. They would both be so in love with their Grandbabies. Papa got to meet both of mine, but he was gone before Em came along. He would love them all so much.So would Granny.

Another song that reminds me of Papa, is Amanda by Waylon Jennings. I have it on my MP3.Sometimes I can smell his hair when that one comes on. God I miss them

Dont Blink

This morning I got half of my teeth cleaned. I was so nervous that I made the hygenist nervous and she was shaking so bad that she had to put the numbing needle down and take a moment. Now the old me, the crybaby,me WOULD have said Um I can come back another day(w/NO intention of coming back), got up and left and went to starbucks. BUT the "new" me the nonbull shit, shut up and quit pussyfootin around me said take a minute and then we will both be fine. You can do it.(to her & me)So she did and we did and I am ALL good. In fact I requested her for my next appointment to clean the rest of them. Then I will start getting them fixed and lookin purty.
I wishWISHWISH I wasnt sucha weinie and would have taken care of these problems before. But Ididnt so here we are.Infact after getting all the scary stuff off, my teeth arent as bad as I thought.
After my appointment,me and my numb paralyzed face went to Joanns, for some more Tatting thread and iron ons. Then Starbucks, when your throat is paralyzed it is kind of hard to enjoy the CarmelMachiatoness of it all, but whatever. While I was at Joanns I saw a girl maybe a smidge older than I , and her baby boy was playing the I'll toss it on the ground you pick it up 9million times game. I laughed, when she said I cant wait until nappy time so Mommy can sew. I told her I Promise you will miss this. I dont think you know how much until you actually are sitting at home waiting for the bus to drop off you big babies.
These days at my house are wonderful. We have a new BB hoop, so at any given time from 330-7pm and before school we have anywhere from 2 to 9 kids here in our driveway, Hollerin and high fiven. Its great.Sunday was funny Mike was out there for about 4hours playing ball with them. When he got home yesterday they said Hey you gonna play? LOL. He is one of them, in almost everyway.........
